Some days I find myself wondering what it means to be a mother? Is it the time I spend changing diapers, playing with my children, reading books to them at bed, and fun in the sun or is it the time I spend do the laundry, giving my children baths, cooking meals for my family, cleaning the house, and potty training my children? Or is it some combination of all of the above.
For I believe that motherhood is a bond shared between mother and child. To me motherhood is the moment you first find out your pregnant. The moment you see your baby's first ultrasound picture. The moment you first feel you baby hic-up or kick. It's the moment you go into labor and have the horribel pain of delivery but it's all worth it to bring a beautiful baby into the world. It's the sensation you get when you hold your new born baby in your arms for the time and see your baby looking up at you for the first. Motherhood is all the dirty you have to change to all the late night feedings. It's the joy of seeing you baby smile or laugh for the first time. It's the thrill of giving your baby their first bath. The time you spend playing with you chilld. The moment you notice your baby's first tooth. The moment your first baby first learns how to crawl. It's the moment your baby learns how to hold their bottle all by themself. The moment your baby has their first solid food. The moment your child learns how to talk. The moment your child first hold a spoon or fork. The moment your child first learns how walk. It's the thrill of potty training your child. The trill of teaching them how to read and write. To the moment your child is ready to go off to school. Motherhood is just the thrill of watching your children grow and make it on their own.
For motherhood to me is the joy of spending time with your children and creating memories that you'll carish for the rest of your lives.
